Add custom instructions

Provide custom instructions to add preferences or requirements that you’d like the AI to consider when you chat with your Word document.

You have created a Microsoft Word document and clicked GPT for Excel Word in the Home tab.
  1. In the GPT for Word sidebar, click on the Settings icon.

  2. Select Write custom instructions and enter your own custom instructions, or choose a predefined option from the dropdown.

    When you select an option from the dropdown, you can modify the predefined instructions.

  3. Click Save.

Your custom instructions are now taken into account when you chat with your Word document. They are active until you choose to Reset to default.
