(Optional) Set up an API key
- Microsoft
GPT for Work can be used without an API key. However, setting up an API key is possible for enhanced privacy, access to more models, and AI provider-side reporting and control.
You can provide a shared API key to all team members, or distribute individual API keys to track each team member's usage directly in the AI provider's dashboard.
Create an API key, or request an API key from your AI provider platform admin. Learn more.
infoFor OpenAI, ensure that the key belongs to a project where:
gpt-4o is enabled
RPM limit >= 1 000
TPM limit >= 1 000 000
These limits can be adjusted based on your specific workload requirements.
Provide the API key to your team members so they can set it in GPT for Excel and GPT for Word.
Team members can now use GPT for Excel and GPT for Word. You can monitor token usage and spending in real-time on your AI provider's dashboard.
