June 2026 updates: Subscriptions, finally!
Pricing became predictable: new spaces pick a Standard, Business or Enterprise plan with a monthly usage quota and see exactly where they stand in the dashboard. The Agent gained Claude Opus 4.8, a reasoning-effort dial and per-run usage stats, and Excel and Word now accept a Google sign-in.
What is GPT for Work great at?
GPT for Work was built for fast and reliable bulk processing. It’s also a great workhorse for everyday spreadsheet work. It’s however not the best for super complex financial modeling.

Built to process hundreds of thousands of rows
GPT for Work started in January 2023 as a Google Sheets add-on that provided one =GPT() custom function through which you could call an LLM. That custom function made it easy to drag a prompt template over thousands of rows. It was so popular that Microsoft reached out to encourage us to create the same add-on for Excel. We have since been obsessed with the bulk processing use-case, and have perfected it so that it can run through hundreds of thousands of rows, at the speed of 1000 per minute, while providing real-time progress tracking and control. It is the best way to automate repetitive grunt work such as bulk categorization or scoring, bulk content generation or translation, bulk web search or enrichment. And with our agent, it’s now as easy as typing what you need.
A joy to use
We’ve built GPT for Work such that it provides fast answers and useful visual feedback, doesn’t pester you with annoying questions, is very easy to control and track. You have to experience it to feel it. Other products leave you wondering when they’ll be done, have very crude controls and don’t keep you in the flow. They’re also not usable via MCP, unlike our agent.

Since the beginning we’ve been multi-AI provider as we thought it would be important that customers can choose the best models for them.
