GPT for Work is becoming Autosheet

GPT for Work is becoming Autosheet. It is the same product, built by the same team at Talarian: an AI agent that works inside Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel. The move to autosheet.com and the first new add-on names are coming soon. Your account, your plan and your add-on stay the same.

Why we're changing the name

We launched GPT for Sheets in early 2023 with a simple idea: use ChatGPT inside Google Sheets cells, with a =GPT function. Instead of asking questions one by one in a chat, you could ask many at once, from a spreadsheet. GPT for Excel came next, and we also built add-ons for Google Docs and Microsoft Word. They were bundled into two add-ons, GPT for Sheets and Docs and GPT for Excel Word, and the website became gptforwork.com.

That name, GPT for Work, no longer fits, for two reasons.

We're focused on spreadsheets. What started as a formula is now an agent that automates spreadsheet work: it writes formulas, cleans data, builds charts and pivot tables, and runs AI on thousands of rows. Spreadsheets are where it does the most for you, so that's where we're focusing: GPT for Sheets, GPT for Excel, and the same Sheets agent for Claude and ChatGPT, through MCP and the API. "GPT for Work" says nothing about spreadsheets.

"GPT" now means ChatGPT. Many people say GPT when they mean ChatGPT, and in July 2026 OpenAI launched ChatGPT Work. "GPT for Work" sounds like an OpenAI product, and it isn't one: we're an independent company, and our agent runs on models from several AI providers. We also don't need "GPT" in the name to tell you the product uses AI. Every product does now.

Autosheet names the job instead: it automates your spreadsheets. We started using the name for the GPT for Sheets agent, to publish it in the Claude and ChatGPT connector directories. Renaming everything else is the next step.

How the names will change

The add-ons will be renamed in three steps. The first step comes soon, with the move to autosheet.com. The next two steps follow later. Until the last step, each name keeps the one you know next to the new one, so you can still find your add-on.

What changes for you

  • Nothing to reinstall. The add-on you have installed is renamed in place.
  • Same account, plan and billing. Your spaces, your plan and its price stay the same. Invoices issued after the rename show the new product names.
  • New website. autosheet.com becomes our website. The pages of gptforwork.com, including the documentation, move there.
  • Your links keep working. Links and bookmarks to gptforwork.com pages, including the documentation, redirect to the same page on autosheet.com.
  • New dashboard address. The dashboard moves from dashboard.gptforwork.com to dashboard.autosheet.com.
  • New support address. The support request form moves from support.gptforwork.com to support.autosheet.com.
  • New social accounts and review profiles. Coming soon.

For admins and developers

  • Same vendor. Talarian still builds and sells the product, so your contracts, security reviews and data processing agreement are with the same company.
  • Same add-ons. The add-ons are renamed in place and keep their marketplace listings, so allowlists in the Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 admin consoles keep working.
  • New domains to allow. If your network or proxy only allows listed domains, add autosheet.com and its subdomains, such as dashboard.autosheet.com, before the move.
  • Same MCP server. Autosheet's MCP server stays at https://mcp.autosheet.com/mcp.
