How to connect Claude to Microsoft Excel
You can connect Claude to Microsoft Excel with the GPT for Excel Word add-in:
Step 1: Install the GPT for Excel Word add-in
Install from the Microsoft AppSource marketplace: Office store link
Step 2: Open GPT for Excel Word
Click GPT for Excel Word from the ribbon's Home tab.
Step 3: Use Claude in Microsoft Excel
Select an Anthropic model from the top model switcher dropdown. Claude is now connected to Microsoft Excel, and you can ask it anything via the chat sidebar, using the model you want (currently claude-4-sonnet, claude-4.5-sonnet, and more), with or without an API key.
