Add global instructions for GPT functions

Provide global instructions to add preferences or requirements that you'd like the AI to consider when generating its responses. All GPT functions in the current spreadsheet will take these instructions into account.

1. In the sidebar menu, select GPT functions.

   

2. Select Model settings.

   

3. Select the type of instructions you'd like to add and edit them if needed.

   

GPT for Sheets uses the global instructions to generate responses for GPT functions in the current spreadsheet.

When cache is enabled, existing GPT formulas will not automatically update to the new instructions when you re-execute them.

To re-execute an existing formula with the new instructions:

• Change a parameter in the formula and press Enter.

• Disable the cache, select the formula, and regenerate its results.
