GPT for Work - 2025 May updates
May brings several significant updates to GPT for Work. We're pleased to demonstrate how you can Clean and enrich your CRM with AI in Google Sheets or Excel - see our walkthrough video below.
This month's release includes important improvements like space-level API keys for easier team management and Azure AI integration. We've also expanded our model support with Anthropic's Claude 4 models and Google's Gemini 2.5 Flash, and GPT for Docs has moved out of beta.

🔧 Use case presentation: Clean and enrich your CRM with AI
Learn how to clean and enrich your CRM data using AI directly in Google Sheets or Excel with GPT for Work add-ons. Automate data cleaning tasks, standardize formats, fill missing information, and enhance your customer records with AI-powered insights.

🔑 Space-level API keys for teams in GPT for Excel and Word
Team management just got easier! Space owners can now set API keys at the space level that automatically work for all team members in the admin dashboard for GPT for Excel and Word. Users can still override these with their own personal keys if needed.

☁️ Azure AI models support
You can now use AI models available through Azure in GPT for Excel and Word. Simply define your Azure endpoint URL, model ID, and API key in the API keys & endpoints screen, then select the model from the model switcher.

Google model
Gemini 2.5 Flash -
(with API key, without API key)
A cost-effective reasoning model ideal for lightweight tasks and rapid responses. Features configurable reasoning capabilities with Low, Medium, and High effort levels.
📄 GPT for Docs moves out of beta
GPT for Docs is now fully launched with the same billing and pricing as GPT for Sheets. Your existing packs can be used with both add-ons, and you can now use GPT for Docs without an API key.
✨ Feature improvements
Image analysis enhancements
Choose image resolution in the Analyze images bulk AI tool with three options: Low, High, or Auto (default) for better control over processing quality.
Web search for Gemini 2.5 Flash
Web search with Google Gemini 2.5 Flash is now available without an API key, priced at $35/1K searches.
Performance boost
GPT for Excel now processes large spreadsheets (10,000+ rows) about 50% faster by reducing initialization time.
Custom prompt simplification
We simplified the Custom prompt bulk AI tool in GPT for Excel by removing rarely used settings: Custom instructions and Get 2 variants per row.
