Set the creativity level

Set the creativity level that will be used for all GPT for Sheets executions in your spreadsheet to define how standard (or not) your output is expected to be. You can find out more about the temperature setting, used by OpenAI to set a creativity level, in our Temperature guide.

Prerequisites

You have opened a Google spreadsheet and selected Extensions > GPT for Sheets and Docs > Open.

1. In the GPT for Sheets sidebar, click Settings.
   
   


2. Use the slider to set the level of creativity between 0 and 1.
   
   
   

All GPT for Sheets executions within your spreadsheet will use the selected creativity level as default. If you make new executions or regenerate existing GPT formulas, the output will take this new value into account.
