Auto-replace formulas

When you execute a formula in a cell, it displays the formula result, but the real cell content remains the formula. This can be inconvenient if you want to edit the result manually. The Auto-replace formulas feature lets you handle results, instead of formulas, immediately after your GPT functions execute successfully. This feature also provides quicker execution times. Auto-replace formulas is only available with the GPT-4 safe mode enabled.

Enable this feature when:

  • You're confident the result will be good and you want to get the raw result directly in the cell.
  • You want to launch between 2,000 and 10,000 executions at once (it will be much faster).
note

This feature is being progressively rolled out and is not currently available for all users.

Prerequisites
  1. Open the GPT formulas controls drowpdown.

  2. Enable Auto-replace formulas.

Auto-replace formulas is now enabled and will be used for all GPT-4 executions as long as GPT-4 safe mode is enabled.

When you drag a formula to apply it to multiple cells, the result is now written directly in the cells instead of the formula.
The starting cell isn't replaced, so the original formula is preserved. The last cell of the range isn't replaced either, so you can later reuse the formula to drag it again.
