Using OpenAI Assistants in GPT for Sheets

Create an OpenAI Assistant
To use an OpenAI Assistant in GPT for Sheets, you'll first need to create one. Here's how:
Go to the OpenAI platform and click Create.
Configure your assistant:
- Give your assistant a Name that describes its purpose.
- In the Instructions field, provide detailed instructions for the assistant's behavior and capabilities.
- Choose an appropriate Model, typically gpt-4o.
If your Assistant needs specific files for reference, upload them using the Files button in the File search section. Learn more.
Enable additional capabilities like Code Interpreter if needed for your use case.
Use an OpenAI Assistant in GPT for Sheets
Once you've created your assistant, you can use it in GPT for Sheets:
- Open the GPT for Sheets add-on, and set up your OpenAI API key.
- Select the assistant in the model switcher in GPT for Sheets.
Your OpenAI Assistant will now be used to execute bulk tools and GPT functions in GPT for Sheets, using the same instructions and knowledge as your original Custom GPT.
