Connect to custom GPTs from Sheets and Excel

While custom GPTs are only available inside ChatGPT, you can easily replicate a custom GPT as an OpenAI Assistant, which you can then use outside ChatGPT. The only difference between custom GPTs and Assistants is that Assistants cannot search the web.

To use a custom GPT as an OpenAI Assistant:

  1. Replicate the custom GPT as an Assistant.

  2. Set an OpenAI API key for your space.

  3. Select the Assistant in GPT for Sheets or GPT for Excel.
