You need to buy a pack to add money to your balance in GPT for Work add-ons.
OpenAI's ChatGPT Plus / Pro / Teams / Enterprise subscription is neither necessary nor sufficient for using the GPT for Work add-ons.
How does the balance work?
To understand how your balance is consumed according to the feature and model you use, see How your balance is consumed. You can also use the cost estimator to estimate what your use case will cost.
Do packs expire?
Packs expire one year after the purchase date.
How can I top up my balance?
You can top up your balance and avoid any interruption in service by buying another pack at any time. This increases your balance immediately but doesn't extend the expiration date of your existing packs. Packs are consumed in order of their expiration date, with the pack closest to expiring being used first.
Can I share a pack with my team?
You can add users to your space from the dashboard. Space users all share the same balance, which you get from buying packs for the space. You can pause balance usage for all users in your space at any time.
Can I set a spending limit?
It is not possible to set an arbitrary spending limit. However, since you cannot spend more than your current balance, your balance always acts as a spending limit.
Do I need to buy a pack even though I'm using my own API key?
Yes, you need to buy a pack. To check the pricing for models you can use with an API key, see AI providers & models.
Do I need to buy a pack even though I'm using my own endpoint?
Yes, you need to buy a pack. Models available through dedicated endpoints (Azure, local servers, cloud-based platforms) do not consume credits, but require a positive balance.
Why do I see my balance quickly go down and then go back up?
When you launch an execution with GPT for Work add-ons, the output size and thus full cost is still unknown. Your balance is pre-debited to make sure it can cover the full cost. If the full cost is lower than what was pre-debited, the remainder will be immediately re-credited.
Is there a free plan?
No, there is no free plan. There is a free trial.
Can I transfer my balance between platforms?

Packs bought for Google Sheets can be used on Google Docs, and vice versa.

Packs bought for Microsoft Excel can be used on Microsoft Word, and vice versa.
To transfer balance from Google Sheets and Docs to Microsoft Excel and Word, or vice versa, contact our support team.
Can I get a refund?
We do not offer refunds. We encourage you to carefully consider how much balance you need before buying.
